~14th ASEAN University Games~

As been publicized before, the opening ceremony of this big event was a success. The expected number of 60 participants turns out well (even though there are some students who cancelled their participation), we would like to express or gratitude to those who came on that day.

T-shirts and goodies were given to all participants. Asiah's were separated into 2 buses. As soon as we arrived, most of us were gathered for some reminder on the flow of the event and to determine the place we should meet after the event.

There were thousands of students from all over the country representing their own varsity. they were dressed in red, black and we must say, IIUM had choosen the most outstanding colour~green..and we mean, light, almost striking green! The 1st impression we get form the students were of course, disgust and dissapointment of the colour choosen. However, when we arrived, the sense of being proud and thankful for wearing the most outstanding colour of the day were sensed on almost every faces of IIUMs students!

The day went well and we must say that it was a blast! Even though there are some setbacks that almost caused chaos, the cooperation from Asiah's members were unbelievable and we again would like to thank u guys fo being so cool!

ASEAN University Games

The 2nd biggest sports event is here! Malaysian should be proud that we are hosting the grand event for this year. In conjunction to that, IIUM has been choosen to be responsible as technical committee of the ASEAN University Games.

As a result, it is compulsory that each Mahallah provides 60 participants as spectators of the opening and closing ceremony. Relating to that, we, MRC of Mahallah Asiah would like to invite Asiah's residents to join in. Plenty advantages could be gained through this event.

The opening ceremony will be held on 13th December 2008 at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil. The closing ceremony will be held on 21st December 2008 at the same venue. No need to worry. Transportation and meals will be provided. In addition to that, each participant will get 60 *STAR points (that's a huge amount!) for your kind participation. Free t-shirts and souvenirs are up for grabs for those who are willingly to sacrifice your remaining holidays to join this grand event! Furthermore, certificate from the *MOHE will be given as a token of appreciation.

What are you waiting for? Come and join this Once in A Lifetime Opportunity!

Ramadhan Post (week 1)

assalammualaikum wbt..

to all residents of Mahallah Asiah.

Ramadhan have arrive! It's been a week since it's started, and for some of us who are lucky, we manage to spend a few days of ramadhan at home.

In event of this month, we have prepared some programs for the residents. There will be refreshment after prayers every weekdays for this month, iftar at masjid wilayah and Khatam al-qur'an along with Iftar Jama'ie.

Last week, on Wednesday (3/08), Thursday (4/08) and Friday (5/08) we arranged an Imam to conduct Terawih prayer on the event of ramadhan al-kareem (of course). We also prepared some refreshment after prayers. On thursday, we had 'Buah Melaka' and on friday, we had 'Bubur Lambuk'. Well, that's what our PM said, I think it's just a simple rice porridge with coconut milk. Believe it or not, we make it ourselves, instead of catering it.

Yes, I know, some of you must be wondering, why make yourself when you can order?

We just feel like it. Nothing wrong with making the food on our own. But no worries, thoes who want catering food, we are unable to make different types of refreshment every single day, so we already ordered some. so, on certain days will be hand made food, and on certain days, will be catering food. Hopefully, you all will be able to enjoy both.

Now, besides Terawih Prayers, we also have other programmes for the fasting month. On the 8th and 15th of September (both are mondays), we will having Iftar at Masjid wilayah. And of course, we will pray Terawih there too. The bus will leave at 6pm at the front of the office, and will come back at 10pm. Hope you guys can come!

Lastly, we also have Khatam al-Qur'an and Iftar Jama'ie in the Multi Purpose Hall, Mahallah Asiah on the 11th of September. The Program will start at 5pm with Khatam al-Qur'an, and will have Iftar together with Principal and fellows. and we will end the night with refreshment after Terawih prayers. It is 100% free! I assure you. So come! We have free food!

So, I hope you guys will come a join some of the programmes i just mention above. Remember, it is the month for the Ummah, a month for us to gain rewards unlike any other month. So, don't waste it, you never know that it might be our last.
